If you’re dying to see colours like Midnight Cowboy or Honey Mustard Fusion in our range the cold hard truth is that you probably won’t see them in the near future. However, with our specialty Prepared For Dye t-shirts you can go as deep into the colour spectrum as you want. Just be careful in there.
Prepared for dye t-shirts are the perfect option for matching an exact fabric colour when you can’t source it from a stock service t-shirt range. It also gives you the flexibility of ordering smaller runs of a custom colour without the high minimum dye quantities required by factories in China.
Our PFD t-shirts are a basic cut men's tee made from 100% cotton including all stitching so the garment will dye completely and consistently. The weight of the shirts before dyeing is 150GSM and dyeing does not generally add any weight to the garment. PFD shirts are designed to shrink one size down after the dye wash and there is only minimal twisting on the finished garment. An enzyme wash can be included as part of the dye process which gives the shirt a soft feel and a fine print face.

Garment dyeing is generally charged by weight, our recommended dye companies will be able to give you a quote based on the quantity of shirt on your order. As a rough guide you should expect to pay $1.80- $5 per shirt depending on the quantity being dyed and the dye process that you choose.
If you have a strong ecological platform for your brand you will also be happy to know that the Reactive dyes used by dyers in NZ and Australia are free from harmful chemicals like Pesticide and Formaldehyde and they have been approved to the highest ecological standards of the Oeko-Tex standard certification. So don’t dye wondering, just dye another day.
